Red Leaves at Lion’s Nature Education Centre

Date: 28 January 2012

Venue: Lion’s Nature Education Centre, Sai Kung

There are actually quite a few places where you can go in Hong Kong to see red leaves.  If you are as poor as I am, you just have to adapt and live - exploring my own beloved Hong Kong!

Of course I was invited again to go with my photographer crew: Chan-sir, Anna, Rosanna and Dennis.  To be honest, if they didn’t tell me, I couldn’t have known that there are red leaves in Sai Kung - it’s so close to where I live!  Anyway, here we go :)

It was a bit cloudy at the beginning, and a bit chill when we arrived, but we were determined to find the plum blossoms, which are also quite famous.  Oh well.  It turned out to be a disappointment.  There were a few spare plum blossoms… after we have been to Huhan and all, these plum trees were nothing in comparison!  I basically just gave up and shot butterflies instead, which was more interesting anyway.  My most beloved and talented Chan-sir went shooting red leaves while Anna, Rosanna and Dennis tried their best to shoot plum blossoms.  They have some quite nice shots as well!

Here are my butterfly shots.

Owing to the weather, my pictures are over-exposed but that’s the way I like them!  Very dreamy.

My mood was so-la-la… so I just shot around playfully :)

The education centre is quite big, and there are many different things to shoot.  Flowers, grasses, trees, birds, lotus, bamboos… you name it!  And of course red leaves!

My red leaves pictures are then again so-la-la!  Not very impressive but I can’t deny the fact that taking photos calms my soul and makes me happy!  Later on the sun came out and I was like a bird again :)

There were many leaves fell on the floor…. making it a beautiful disarrayed map!

…along with many nameless trees.

Shall go again next year when I am around :D  Hong Kong is such a pretty place!  Just go out and explore!
